In the modern world, much as in the Israel of Amos’ day prosperity thrives amidst decay. God speaks to us today through Amos concerning: People’s inhumanity to people: feast amidst famine: meaningless and mindless religion: complacency among God’s people. Just as God offered a rescue plan for those to whom He pronounced His judgment so too He offers a rescue to all people today – Jesus Christ. Through faith in Jesus, God provides us forgiveness of all sins and eternal life. His love and mercy motivate us to serve others. -
